How long can you leave clothes in the hamper? Does anything happen?
I've had my clothes in my hamper for about 3 weeks. Some of them are gym clothes so they're pretty stinky. I'm planning to wash them sometime this week. I haven't worn them or anything - I have plenty of clean clothes..but I was wondering...does anything happen when you don't wash your clothes for that long? Do stains and stenches stay in clothes the longer they are dirty?
Just curious.
While waiting on a new washer a few years ago I accumulated 3 weeks worth of dirty clothes (4 kids). No smell because I made sure everything was dry before it went into the hamper. I also sprinkled baking soda throughout the clothes. This absorbed the smell and also reduced the amount of detergent I had to use when I finally was able to wash them. If there is anything with a stain, I would try to get the stain out before putting in the hamper.
