Did children, in your elementary school, tease others for not wearing brand-name clothing?
Maybe it's just me, but I had the weirdest experience in elementary school (4-6th grade)... no idea why kids were so obsessed with it.
Keep in mind, this just wasn't me.. this was ANYONE who didn't follow these strict homo-fashion rules. It didn't matter if you were the coolest person in the world, if your dad drove a Ferrari, or if you lived in the biggest house, or had the most money; if you didn't wear these retarded clothing brands, you were made to go sit by yourself at lunch.
You were ostracized for:
1.) Not wearing brand-name clothing
2.) Wearing clothes from Wal-Mart
3.) Wearing the same shirt twice in the same week (wtf, what if you do laundry?)
It would go like....
"Hahaha, nice Wal-Mart clothes you poor faggot. Oh, and you wore that t-shirt 3 days ago today... you're gay."
Uh. WTF, how do you remember what I wore 3 days ago? I can't even remember what I ate for breakfast this morning.
I totally had this happen to me in elementery school, it made my life miserable till like high school. What was worse was my parents were immigrants from southern Asia so I had no idea WHY this is all such a big deal and I didn't get it till like 3th grade. It was def crazy weird that people would keep track of my clothes. Made me a total slave to the name brand stuff, sometimes which I couldn't even afford, all throughout middle school but it def clicked in like high school. Wore my Hollister jeans with a Wal Mart top and looked great.
I think when the kids start teasing other kids about material goods in like 3rd grade, its got to be some kind of issue at home. Like maybe the parents throw money at their child and tell them to go buy stuff because they're never around. Or let them watch waaaay too much TV....who knows, its mean in the creepiest of ways
