I need help on lighting the cole in my hookah?
mkay so i bought a hookah.
how do i light the cole's?
with a lighter, match, what?
and i dont get how it burns the hookah when you put the hookah in the bowl, put aluninum foil on it covering the bowl (make little wholes in the foil, and put the cole on top.
i dont get how it lights the hookah?
and how long does it take the light the hookah?

General :
1) Quicklights - hold the coals with your tongs, and light them with a lighter. Be careful! Make sure they're FULLY done.
Naturals - Place them on a coil burner, and turn them over when they're half way done (red). Takes about 5 minutes.
Honestly, naturals are WAAAY better than quicklights. quicklights are choc full of chemicals. naturals are always better.
There's Exotica, Chronic Hookah , Coconara , etc. right now i'm using exotica finger coals.
2) okay, here's how it works. You put the aluminum on to cover the bowl. You poke holes in the aluminum foil (i'd say about 2 circles). You put the coals on top of the aluminum foil. Okay! now here's what happens. the coals are cooking the shisha. When you inhale from the hose, you're pulling air into holes in the aluminum foil. The smoke from the burning shisha goes down the stem - into the water and out through the hose - and goes into your mouth and lungs. It's like a vaccuum!
3) you're not lighting the hookah itself (which consists of the stem, base, bowl, grommets etc), you're heating up the coals which, in turn, burns the shisha!
4) so when you put the coals on the foil, i always try to let it sit there for at least 4-5 minutes before i start smoking. I try to let the shisha cook a little. Then start inhaling.. it'll prolly take about 4-10 "hits" to get the smoke going. But the flavor should be there.
and dont try and put 60 billion coals at once! You're gonna burn the crap out of your shisha and it's going to get harsh. You're trying to slowly cook the shisha, not sautee the poor thing. You session should last about 45 mins to and hour generally. possibly up to two hours depending on the type of bowl and shisha.
