Knitting Board Basics $24.99 If you've ever wanted to try your hand at board loom knitting, here's all the information you need to get started. Knitting boards differ from looms in that the material created is thicker and double-sided. In Pat and Kim Novak's Knitting Board Basics, all aspects of using the board are covered. So whether you're just learning to cast on working basic stitches or looking for solid advice on how to shape and join sleeves, you'll find it here. The book contains complete directions for 34 projects with a wide range of difficulty, starting with fast and fun weekend diversions like colorful totes or cute baby booties, and then advancing to more complicated projects, such as striped button-up jackets or even hooded cable-knit sweaters for children. how to knit a tube scrf with a loom?
Hi i just bought a loom kit that has 4 different sizes and the instructions are crazy and hard to follow. I know the basic idea of starting it and doin the knit but I want to make a scarf not a beanie so i dont know how to cast it off. Every time I try the whole thing comes apart. Its just a basic tube scarf can any one please tell me what do to once i get the last stitch done? Or if i have to i can use knitting needles but same issue i dont know how to end it. Thanks so much.
Do you know how to start?
To start you wind your string around each of the pegs, the next rows you can use several different ways of winding, giving different looks.
The last round you normally pull your next stitch through your last one.
That is, you knit a stitch as you would normally do, no you move it to the next peg and pull the stitch which was there through the one you just moved.
Your new stitch will also be knitted and then moved to the next peg.
In the videos on the sites I link to below you can see it in the videos.
This site has a video showing how to knit, and how to finish, flat as well as round.
All in the one video so you need to be patient to get to it:
http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-basic-loom-knitting-stitches
This site has a basic, pictures and text explanation on how to start too:
http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/how-to-loom-knit.html
This site also has a clear video showing how to knit, starting with starting to knit:
http://www.provocraft.com/video/index.php?prd=Knifty%20Knitter&ttl=Knifty%20Knitter%20lg&w=400&h=300&plr=windows
But again it takes a while till they are at the start of the instructions.
If you get real stuck, and do not understand the videos, you can also sew the stitches together, make sure you go through each of the stitches.
